I made this game for my Extended Project Qualification. The experience was extremely rewarding as this is the first time I have dedicated a large portion of time to a single project and I'm really proud I got to see it to completion

The game is a rogue-like platformer where the goal of the player is to get as far as they can by clearing the levels of all enemies! The player has to defeat the goblins who throw bombs and the eyeballs that recklessly charge right at them! The courageous robot is equipped with a single target blaster, good for quick damage, and a laser beam - powerful enough to vanquish multiple foes at one, but requiring a long charge up time during which the player is vulnerable to damage. Balance the use of these abilities carefully to traverse the twisting maze of tartarus.

Controls:

AD to move

SPACE to jump

J to shoot the blaster

HOLD K to charge the laser

RELEASE K to shoot the laser

*Tips*

Keep moving! The eyeballs lock on to their target before attacking, so by quickly running away, you can ensure they miss! This will also allow you to escape bombs before they explode

Make sure to prioritise your enemies! Goblins will keep throwing bombs until they are killed so taking care of them first will remove pressure from you, allowing you to start fighting the eyeballs

Use your weapons carefully! The laser is more powerful, but it takes time to charge up, and you are vulnerable whilst using it. Reserve it for large groups of enemies to clear them all out at once, and stick to the blaster for one on one fights.

If performance is an issue: download the executable and run it locally as this game was optimised to be played locally. There is no native version for Mac and Linux users, but as a unity game there are third party tools available to convert it.
